Meeting your designer
We will arrange a mutually convenient time to view your garden and discuss your individual ideas and needs for your garden, the services you require and your budget. This initial consultation is free of charge.
Written garden design brief
Following the initial meeting we provide a written garden design brief outlining the ideas and needs discussed and the cost for drawing up your garden design.
Site survey & analysis
The next step involves returning to site to carry out a full and detailed linear survey of the existing fixtures and features of the garden and take photographs. This enables us to produce a professional garden design to scale.
Garden design
An individual, coloured garden design is produced to scale, incorporating information from the initial consultation and data collected from the site survey. A further visit is arranged to discuss the garden design proposal and view the illustrative sketches and examples.
Planting plans
Barefoot Garden Design works with your garden’s soil conditions and aspect to create a planting plan that truly reflects your individual style and taste, and looks good all year round.
Getting the planting right is fundamental to the overall appearance of the garden and its design. It is important to consider the particular qualities of each plant – such as form, colour, scent and texture - when designing planting plans.
Project management
Good garden design is preceded by good planning. Our designer will provide direct supervision of the garden build and planting ensuring its completion to the very highest of standards and your complete satisfaction.
Total costings for the design are broken down to enable you to see exactly where your investment is going.
Aftercare of your new garden
Barefoot Garden Design always provides a maintenance schedule for your plants – free of charge. It contains practical information on watering, feeding and pruning the plants in your new garden.
